More blocks

THese two quilt blocks arrived in the mail last week from Kris in Kingston. I am late in posting them and thanking you Kris because our internet stopped working during the thunderstorm last Saturday night. It turned out to be a Bell problem which took until today to be rectified. Fortunately we are now connected again and over the next few days I will post more quilt blocks as they come in.
These bleeding hearts came from Kathy B from Frankford.
Catherine is one of the Friday (now Wednesday) stitchers

Elizabeth V mailed this block to me.  Thank you Elizabeth.
THe forget me nots are so appropriate  and perfect.
I will post some more on the weekend.

Stitching Rotation

I found myself kitting up an ornament a few minutes ago .... Then I remembered that I had decided it was time to start another stitching rotation, and yes there would be a slot for ornaments in it but not just at this moment.
The above is the beginning of a Christmas stocking for my son-in-law and it represents day 4 on my 4 day schedule. Therefore, I had better finish day 4 with it before starting day 1 with anything else, no matter how those ornaments are calling me!
This stocking is going to have to take some kind of priority since it would be good to have it done before Christmas and because by December I will have to be thinking of a stocking pattern for the new grandchild. I would love to do the Little Girl's Room stocking from the old CS&CC magazines but what if the baby is a boy?
Anyway, I know a rotation works for  me, as long as I don't get sidetracked by something I absolutely love and can't put down, like Giovanni's Alphabet and as long as I confine the rotation to 3 pieces at most.
So let's see how I do as the summer progresses.

One ornament

I have 4 great nieces and  for the last few years I have been making an ornament for each of them. I had 3 in this series made so I just added the 4th.
I understand from my brother that both my nephew and his wife are expecting their second child in October and my niece and her partner are expecting their first in January. Add to that, my step daughter and her husband are expecting their first child in December and I may find myself making more ornaments soon to keep up with this mini population boom!
This is the second quilt block I have made for the Mountie Quilt project.

More Quilt blocks

Tigger stitched by Janice B.

This iris was stitched by Sharon C.
Two quilt blocks completed by Brighton stitchers

I know these are just the beginning. Sharon has asked me to display them in the shop until it is time to send them to the quilter. I am of course happy to do that. They will also be on display at my annual Stitching Day on August 23.  Everyone is welcome to attend by the way!

Quilt Block back stitched and pressed

She looks much better with the back stitching.
I wasn't thinking though and now I realize that linen was likely not the best choice of fabric to use for a quilt block.  I have decided to do a second block, this time on Aida. This one has lots of stitching also but no back stitches and it is composed entirely of whole stitches. I'll see how it progresses.

Thank you to those of you who have contacted Sharon and have offered to do a bock or two.

If anyone wants to send me a photo of her finished square I will happily post it here to share with our fellow cross stitchers.

Quilt block

OK. So this is  my block for the quilt (see above) but without the back stitching...what possessed me to choose a pattern with so many colour changes and so much back stitching. Oh well, as Beth teased me, I am the one who decided to go with a TW because  I was tired of the colour changes in my Mystic Stitch chart... It takes all kinds right??
I will post a photo of the kitty with the back stitching done ASAP!
